Who: Bright Brewery
Where: 121 Great Alpine Road, Bright
When: Sun-Sat 11:30am – 10:00pm
Bright Brewery was founded in 2005 by Scott Brandon, his late wife Fiona Reddaway, and their friends David and Julia, driven by a desire to make great beer and share Bright’s spectacular surrounds with everyone who passes through. Today, it continues as an independent family business, employing more than 70 local staff.
Bright loves making beer using HPA hops, with 4 of their 5 core range beers featuring at least one of our Aussie hops. We recommend you try their Alpine Lager featuring Galaxy and Eclipse. It’s currently ranked Victoria’s #1 Indie Lager. Plus, keep an eye out for this year’s fresh hop beer. Their 2022 North East Victoria IPA brewed with fresh Galaxy hops was excellent, and we reckon this year’s will be no different.
As the closest brewery to HPA’s Victorian farms, Brewer David Stokie says “fresh hop beers are really close to our hearts. They allow us to celebrate our corner of the world and challenge us to capture the flavour of the valley.”
The brewery has experienced substantial redevelopment since 2012, transforming into an environmentally considered, multipurpose, all-weather venue and hop terrace that can seat up to 500 people. And they don’t just make mouth-watering beers, their food is pretty good too. Try the Hero Board, but only if you’re REALLY hungry or have a few mates to lend a hand.
